Marine Support Unit
The Marine Support Unit provides police support on the water and around the coast, harbours and inland waterways. Its officers are trained for waterborne operations and to work alongside other services in maritime incidents.
How we work
The unit supports searches, missing-person enquiries, specialist deployments and incidents where officers need access from the water. It works with local policing teams, search specialists and other responders. The particular response and deployment are decided through operational command rather than requested directly by members of the public.
Reporting and enquiries
Report an incident using the relevant police reporting service. Do not use an operational unit's internal contact details as an emergency route.
