Operation Amberstone
Operation Amberstone is the force's specialist investigation function for rape and serious sexual offences. Its investigators work on sensitive and complex cases and help ensure that victims receive appropriate support throughout an investigation.
How we work
The team conducts specialist enquiries, works with forensic services and public protection colleagues, and co-ordinates with victim-support and criminal justice services. Investigations are handled with care for the needs of the person reporting, the preservation of evidence and the rights of everyone involved.
Reporting and enquiries
Someone wishing to report a sexual offence should use the dedicated reporting or contact route. Reports must not depend on being able to contact a named specialist officer.
