How the HIOWC website uses cookies and similar browser storage.
Cookies used by this service
Public information pages do not require advertising cookies. Restricted staff and recruitment services use a strictly necessary session cookie when an authorised user signs in.
Authentication cookie
The uh_session cookie maintains an authenticated session. It is HTTP-only, uses SameSite restrictions and is sent securely over HTTPS. It is used for sign-in, session security and access control rather than advertising or profiling.
Public forms
Submitting a public police form does not require an advertising or marketing cookie. Information entered into a police service form is handled as service information under the privacy notice.
Managing cookies
You can remove cookies using your browser settings. Removing the authentication cookie signs you out of restricted services and you will need to sign in again.
