What we do
The Central Area Crime Team supports investigations which require coordination across district boundaries or proactive investigative work beyond a single local team. It operates within the Central Area structure alongside district response, Local Investigations and neighbourhood policing.
How the department works
District Police Officers remain responsible for their own assigned incidents and enquiries. The Area Crime Team can support or lead work allocated through the proper investigative and command arrangements, with cases and evidence retained in the relevant operational systems.
Responsibilities
- Cross-District and proactive investigation
