Dog Support Unit
The Dog Support Unit provides operational police-dog teams to support local and specialist policing. The unit includes handlers trained for general-purpose policing and specialist canine tasks.
How we work
Handlers may assist with searches, tracking, locating people, recovering evidence and operations where a police dog is a suitable resource. They work with the Dog Section's professional standards and training arrangements and are deployed through the Joint Operations command structure.
Reporting and enquiries
Members of the public should use the standard reporting services for incidents requiring police attention. Operational deployments are decided by police command staff.
