Chalkbourne District includes the historic town and the surrounding downland and rural settlements. It is one of Central Area's seven districts. Three neighbourhood policing teams provide geographical coverage of the town, Bramleigh, Alverdene and the Downs.

- Chalkbourne Town NPT – Old Chalkbourne, St Cross and Barleycroft, Whitefield and Bourne End.
- Bramleigh NPT – Bramleigh.
- Alverdene and Downs NPT – Alverdene and Chalkbourne Downs.
Local police services
These teams undertake neighbourhood engagement, identify repeated local problems and support prevention activity. District response and local investigations provide the operational response to reports and follow-up enquiries. Rural incidents should be reported through the normal reporting service with the precise settlement or locality identified.
