The Criminal Justice Unit supports police investigations as they progress towards a charging decision, court proceedings or another lawful outcome. Its staff help investigators present accurate and complete case material.
How we work
The unit works on case preparation, quality review, witness care and the administration of criminal justice decisions. It checks the handling of evidence and information, supports prosecution processes and maintains the necessary records and updates. It works closely with investigators, custody, prosecutors and the courts in accordance with their respective responsibilities.

The unit does not take new crime reports. Members of the public seeking information about an existing case should use the approved contact or request service.
